Play’n’Learn refreshed Te Kōhanga Reo o Nga Pihi O Te Purapura Pai with custom furniture, defined learning zones, and culturally aligned design elements to improve flow, supervision, and tamariki-led exploration.
Te Kōhanga Reo o Miropiko, Te Kōhanga Reo o Miropiko
Te Kōhanga Reo o Miropiko partnered with Play’n’Learn to deliver a refreshed learning environment aligned to their kaupapa and daily practice. The fitout combined custom birch plywood furniture, practical storage, and cultural elements to create clear, functional learning zones with improved flow and supervision.
Defined areas for social play, literacy, and quiet retreat were introduced, alongside accessible cubbies, integrated kitchen units, and a wharenui-style retreat space to support belonging and calm regulation.
The most significant outcome was the kōhanga’s feedback following completion:
“Massive thank you to you and your team for such beautiful mahi. We cannot wait to operate in our new space and we are super excited to show our tamariki our new whare. You guys have been great to work with. It’s been a pleasure and we will be back 🙂
Te Kōhanga Reo o Miropiko”
The result is a cohesive, kaupapa-led environment that the kōhanga is excited to operate within and share with their tamariki.
