Te Kōhanga Reo o Iti Noa Pepe
Te Kōhanga Reo o Iti Noa Pepe partnered with Play’n’Learn to deliver a purpose-built fitout designed specifically for pēpi and young tamariki, with a focus on safe exploration, calm regulation, and kaiako visibility.
Key fitout outcomes:
-
Custom birch plywood furniture and low-level storage to support independence
-
Defined learning zones using bamboo-accented barriers and open sightlines
-
Soft seating, mirrored panels, and tactile elements to encourage early sensory exploration
-
Dedicated retreat and sensory spaces with interactive lighting and enclosed wharenui-style forms
-
Sleep areas configured with low beds and cots to maximise safety, supervision, and daily efficiency
-
Natural textures and muted tones to create a grounded, nurturing atmosphere
The result is a cohesive pēpi environment where furniture, layout, and sensory design work together to support early development and everyday kaupapa-led practice.
