Play’n’Learn refreshed Te Kōhanga Reo o Nga Pihi O Te Purapura Pai with custom furniture, defined learning zones, and culturally aligned design elements to improve flow, supervision, and tamariki-led exploration.
Pegasus Nest
Pegasus Nest partnered with Play’n’Learn for a complete new-centre fitout, including all furniture, educational resources, storage, and outdoor EverPlay moveable play equipment. A defining feature of the project was the extensive custom furniture manufactured to the client’s designs and specifications, ensuring each space aligned precisely with their layout and operational requirements.
The indoor fitout focused on calm, well-defined learning environments, including:
-
Custom-built resource shelving and low-level storage to support child-led access
-
Curved and modular furniture layouts to improve flow and supervision
-
Purpose-built dramatic play, literacy, and construction zones
-
Soft furnishings and defined carpet areas to support regulation and quieter play
Bespoke joinery and made-to-spec pieces were integrated throughout the centre, allowing Pegasus Nest’s preferred aesthetic to be achieved without compromising durability or commercial performance standards.
Outdoors, the centre was supplied with Play’n’Learn’s EverPlay moveable play range to enable flexible daily setups and progressive gross motor challenge. The moveable system allows teachers to adapt the environment easily while supporting a broad range of ages and developmental stages.
The result is a cohesive, purpose-built environment where custom manufacturing, resources, and moveable play systems operate as a single integrated solution.
