Tauranga City Council – Sensory Room
Tauranga City Council partnered with Play’n’Learn to create a purpose-designed sensory room that provides a calm, inclusive environment for relaxation, exploration, and sensory engagement. Featuring soft furnishings, interactive sensory elements, acoustic features, and flexible seating, the space has been carefully curated to support wellbeing, self-regulation, and meaningful interaction.
From illuminated sensory columns and tactile resources to cosy retreat spaces and sound-absorbing design elements, every detail was selected to create a welcoming atmosphere that encourages both active discovery and quiet reflection. The result is a versatile sensory space that caters to a wide range of needs, offering a safe and engaging environment where users can explore, unwind, and connect at their own pace.
