(1 customer review)

From: $3,599.95

The EverPlay 2.0 Compact Explorer Set is a 5-piece moveable play set for younger tamariki who are building confidence with climbing, balancing and sliding.

It is ideally suited to children around 18 months to 3.5 years, while still being useful in under-twos spaces when set up low and supervised appropriately.

Note: Photos may show example layouts, other EverPlay products or accessories not included in this set.

Set contents

  • 1x EverPlay Curve Box Medium 58cm
    • Main 58cm platform for climbing, sliding, linking and low-level challenge.
    • Wider top surface supports steadier movement and shared play.
    • Side cut-outs support crawl-through play, hiding, cubbies and social play.
    • Extra QuickClip points allow attachments to connect part-way up the box, not only at platform height.
  • 1x Rope Ladder 1.5m
    • Replaces the rigid ladder used in the original Compact Explorer Set.
    • More forgiving for younger climbers, as the rope can flex and absorb some force if a child slips.
    • Builds grip strength, coordination, balance and step-by-step climbing confidence.
  • 1x Slide 58cm
    • Lower-height slide for movement, turn-taking and repeated climbing motivation.
    • Requires a clear 1m run-out space at the bottom of the slide.
  • 1x Steps
    • Stable access onto the 58cm platform.
    • Supports confident climbing and descending for younger tamariki.
  • 1x Mountain Range 1m
    • Adds a wavy balance path for extra complexity compared with the original Compact Explorer Set.
    • Encourages stride adjustment, ankle control, balance and body awareness.
    • Can be used low for toddlers, then made more challenging as confidence grows.

What has changed from the original Compact Explorer Set?

  • Added balance complexity: the Mountain Range gives children a rolling path of rises and dips, adding more movement variation than a simple access-only layout.
  • More forgiving climbing: the Rope Ladder replaces the rigid ladder, giving younger climbers a flexible climbing surface that can bend under movement.

More setup options from the same pieces

The biggest functional upgrade in EverPlay 2.0 is the ability to connect attachments at more heights on the curve boxes. Attachments can run from the ground to the top of a box, from the ground to a mid-height point, or from a mid-height point up to the platform.

For younger children, this lets kaiako start with lower, simpler routes, then gradually increase the challenge as tamariki become steadier, stronger and more confident.

Why centres choose it

  • Compact footprint: a strong entry-level set for smaller under-threes and toddler play spaces.
  • Ideal age range: suited to around 18 months to 3.5 years, with under-two use possible in low, supervised layouts.
  • Balanced challenge: climbing, stepping, sliding and wavy balance play in one compact set.
  • More toddler-friendly climbing: the Rope Ladder provides a flexible alternative to a rigid ladder.
  • Teacher-controlled difficulty: adjust attachment height and layout as children grow in confidence.
  • Supports Te Whāriki: encourages exploration, movement, agency, confidence and social play.
  • Made for NZ ECE and school environments: durable EnduraPanel surfaces are designed for year-round outdoor use.

What makes EverPlay different to any other playbox or moveable play equipment

  • Functionality: QuickClip attachment points let teachers change attachment heights, giving far more setup options than fixed-height plywood or timber moveable play products.
  • Wider age and ability range: the same attachments can be used in lower, simpler layouts or raised into more challenging routes as tamariki grow in confidence.
  • Aesthetic durability: UV-stable EnduraPanel resists weathering, chipping and visible wear, helping the set keep its appearance outdoors.
  • Hygienic: non-porous surfaces are easy to clean and help prevent moisture, dirt and bacteria from soaking into the product.
  • Extended lifespan: designed for over 30 years of outdoor functional life, outlasting plywood and timber alternatives.

Compliance, setup and care

This set is part of Play’n’Learn’s CCEP-certified Outdoor Moveable Play Range for compliance with NZS 5828:2015, AS 4685:2021 and EN 1176:2017 when set up, used, inspected and maintained in line with Play’n’Learn guidance.

When configured at 600mm or below, a 1.5m clear fall zone is not required, but the play area must still be clear of hazards. If this set is reconfigured with higher EverPlay pieces, use suitable impact-absorbing surfacing and a 1.5m clear fall zone from the 600mm point. The slide also requires a clear 1m run-out space at the bottom.

Warranty

EverPlay 2.0 is backed by a 10-year structural warranty. It is made to order in New Zealand and designed to stay outside year-round in ECE and school environments.

Commonly asked questions about EverPlay

Q: How is EverPlay delivered, and does it need assembly?
No assembly is required. Every EverPlay item is made to order in our Wellington factory and arrives ready to use. Where possible, we use furniture movers who carry the equipment directly into your playground. In regions where this service isn’t available, your order will arrive securely packed on a large pallet via a tail-lift truck. The pallet can be placed in a convenient spot, such as your car park, for you to unpack when it suits.

Q: Can I use EverPlay with equipment from other suppliers?
Yes, you can use EverPlay with equipment from other brands. The Playbox itself will still be compliant, but once you connect non-EverPlay attachments, the responsibility for compliance shifts to your centre. This means you’ll need to ensure the attachments are safe, compliant, and connected securely. For the simplest approach, and to keep full certification, we recommend using EverPlay components together with our QuickClip system.

Q: What is EverPlay made from, and how does it last?
EverPlay is built from three high-performance materials chosen for safety, durability, and sustainability:

  1. Aluminium Frames: Structural-grade aluminium makes each piece lightweight, rust-proof, and easy for teachers to move.
  2. EnduraPanel: A rubberised composite panel with at least 50% pre-recycled content. It’s tough, non-slip, and designed to handle heavy outdoor use while keeping tamariki safe.
  3. Stainless Steel-Cored Rope: UV-stabilised polyester braid for grip and comfort, reinforced with a stainless steel wire core for strength and cut resistance.

Q: How often should I repaint my EverPlay equipment?
Never. EverPlay doesn’t require repainting because its materials are engineered to withstand outdoor use without fading, rusting, or peeling. This makes EverPlay the lowest-maintenance outdoor moveable play system available.

Q: What age groups can use EverPlay?
EverPlay is designed to grow with children. Because the attachments can be height-adjusted, the same set can be tailored to suit different ages and stages. For younger toddlers, attachments can be set lower and flatter to build confidence and safety. As children get older and more capable, the same pieces can be reconfigured to create steeper climbs, higher challenges, and more engaging play for preschoolers. This flexibility means your EverPlay set stays relevant year after year, adapting to the developmental needs of every group of tamariki.

  1. Educare Porirua

verplay equipment have been a very popular and versatile addition to the playground. The boxes can be used to add equipment to, hide inside or use as a cubby house for example. We have noticed no fading in colour or had any maintenance issues with the boxes since we purchased them 2.5 years ago. The slide is a popular addition to the playground, It requires minimal maintenance and we have not noticed any wear in the time we have had them. They are easy to dry and wipe down each day.
Safety wise, children don’t slide too fast, they love the ability to go down 2-3 children at a time from how wide it is and it doesn’t get hot on summer days.
